Moose Jaw’s Western Development Museum will benefit from more than $18,000 funding to build an elevator in the Snowbirds Gallery.
The announcement was made at the museum on Tuesday by Ray Boughen, MP for Palliser, on behalf of James Moore, Minister of Canadian heritage and official languages. The Government has given the museum $18,780.
David Klatt, executive director of the Western Development Museum, explained the money, which will be matched by the museum, will be used to build an elevator to the mezzanine level of the Snowbirds Gallery.
He said the elevator would allow disabled access. “The work will start fairly quickly because the money is meant to be spent by the end of March,” he said.
“We started to develop the mezzanine level when the Snowbirds gallery was built but we needed access for people so we have been waiting every since.”
