A local arts and cultural event will be that much better thanks to the federal government. Palliser MP Ray Boughen is giving Mossbank $6,900 for the Old Wives Lake Festival.

"I appreciate the hard work of the Old Wives Lake Festival Committee to put this festival together and celebrate this event." 

The funding is made possible through the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program, the same program that funds Motif in Moose Jaw.

The festival, which celebrates the first meeting of the North-West Mounted Police and First Nations people at Old Wives Lake, will take place July 30th-August 1st.
