An expo for senior citizens to learn more about services provided by the Government of Canada and others in the community will be held this month.

The 50 Plus Expo will take place at the Cosmo Senior Citizens Centre on June 19 from 9:30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and admission is free.  The event is hosted by Palliser MP Ray Boughen and will include a light lunch at 12 p.m.

“It’s an opportunity for seniors to get together and meet with people who are the ones that deliver services to them and facilities which are in the community and have a relationship with seniors,” Boughen said.

Boughen said it was important to give seniors a chance to learn about government and services available in their community.

“This gives us a chance to address both of these. We have 12 groups confirmed their attendance and there are groups dealing with everything from travel to fitness to government services,” he said.
