The Snowbirds had the perfect day at 15 Wing Moose Jaw to hold their first official show of their 40th anniversary season. The pilots wowed the crowd, made up of military leadership, the military community and family friends, with the moves they have been practicing for months.
The acceptance show on Friday gave people a sneak preview before the Snowbirds go on the road performing 54 shows in 39 locations across North America.
But it also serves an important function as Maj. -Gen. Yvan Blondin, Commander of 1 Canadian Air Division, observed the team’s performance to make sure it met all the safety requirements and represented the Canadian Forces professionally.
And fortunately he signed it off for the 40th anniversary season. He told the Times-Herald it was a “great” show.
“I like the adjustments made and small changes from last year’s show. I think the formations look really nice so I’m happy. I like the performance.
